Winter Markets

Time to talk winter weather!  We are reminded today that as cold as we were yesterday, it would have been impossible to work a market on a day like today. Even as we plan our  calendar for January and February to put up on the web site and hand out at both markets, we know that we may still have to cancel a scheduled market.

However, if we have scheduled an indoor event at Oakton, we will only cancel that if winter weather is affecting the safety of the roads.

Our "Rain or Shine" policy is always, summer and winter, dependent upon the vicissitudes of the weather and we will not place vendors or shoppers at risk.  High winds are our greatest threat - wayward tents can cause harm and cost money to replace.  But the cold can also be harmful - to people and products after a few hours.

So I do try my best to be prescient - and I do wait until the "last minute" to call a market;  but if we are not there on a scheduled Saturday, please believe that we all want to be there to serve you.

And during the winter months, you may want to "buy ahead' those items that have a shelf life or that can be frozen when you are planning to entertain in the near future.

Word to the wise:  Check the web site!  We always post a cancellation or an early closing!
